Honne-Pondokkies is situated in the remote village of Hondeklip Bay on the Namaqualand coast, where peace and tranquillity are a way of life and folks live at ease with their surroundings.
Here all visitors are welcome and free to meander, without restraint or apprehension, along a picturesque 14 km shoreline.
We offer six self-catering units with views of the ocean from the patios, and within walking distance to the beach.
Pondokkie 1 and 2 is typical, beautiful and luxurious west coast accommodation. Pondokkie 3, 4, 5 & 6 are luxurious wood chalets with thatched roofs. All units have DSTV and have a full sea view. Each unit has its own braai area and there is also a braai room for the rainy days. Enjoy a sun-downer on the patio while watching a beautiful sunset.
We also have a huge lapa and boma for the more adventurous. All our units are fully equipped with gas stoves (oven included) and microwave ovens. We also have a beautiful luxurious dining room and a warm delicious breakfast may be enjoyed at our facility.

They are situated at the start of the Namaqua 4X4 route to Vioolsdrift and the Richtersveld.
They are also close to the Orange River which is great for fishing, canoeing, river rafting, hiking, abseiling, rock climbing and picnics on the river banks. 4X4 Routes are close by.
There are 2 camping sites with ablution, hot and cold showers and numerous camp spots equipped with electricity points.

Vanrhynsdorp is situated on the Cape to Namibia route and the Namaqua Lodge is positioned along the N7, making it a favourite for guests who want to stay the night and make a long journey more manageable.
Our central location means we are also popular with travellers doing business in the Matzikama and Namaqualand area. Nearby towns around Vanrhynsdorp include: Nieuwoudtville, Vredendal, Klawer, Lutzville, Nuwerus and Bitterfontein.
Namaqualand Flower Tours:
Our 4x4 bus flower tours are conducted exclusively at the beginning and end of our season. Due to the diverse and dynamic nature of our season flowers in abundance is not a given on this tour. But in a good year, you might just get lucky. However, the scenery and routes that we can travel on our 4x4 bus allow access to places less travelled to that ensure an amazing experience. these tours will depart and return to Cape Town and only offered as 4-day packages.
