Difficult, 4x4 with High Clearance- 70% gravel roads for experienced 4x4 drivers and experienced adventure bikers only

Route 3 is for the more adventurous travelers. 4 wheel drive is required in some sections, and in the wet the route from Barkly East to Mount Fletcher is very slippery. For adventure bikers, deep water in Baviaanskloof in the winter months and wet roads in the Eastern Cape Highlands will make parts un-rideable.
Small to mid-range sized motorcycles with full off-road knobbly tyres are best for this route.

This farm is situated in the majestic Baviaanskloof, a World Heritage Site situated in the Eastern Cape of Southern Africa. There are less than 20 privately owned farms on the west side of the Game Reserve remaining, and most farms border the greater Baviaans Nature Reserve, as is the case with Speekhout.
This allows for free roaming of wild life and natural uninterrupted propagation, the reason there is abundant Kudu browsing on our land these days. There are 7 different bio-diversities that comes together in this unique landscape and we trust that even in the face of an ongoing and severe drought, its magnificent legacy will continue for the adventurous souls who seeks out this heart stopping and rugged natural beauty

The Bethesda Guesthouse is situated in the town of Nieu-Bethesda and offers guests a relaxing stay in a tranquil environment. The guesthouse comprises big windows, high ceilings, and solid walls that create warmth in winter, and coolness in summer. Guests have a choice of 4 individually decorated rooms that overlook the gardens and have private entrances that open onto an outdoor seating area.
All of the rooms are both furnished with extra-length king-size beds, and each room has an en-suite bathroom with a bath and a shower. For extra convenience, white linen, soft towels, and slippers are provided. The rooms are equipped with bar fridges, tea- and coffee-making facilities, and Wi-Fi is available.
